Dr. Kevin Blake was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Cascia Hall Preparatory School. As a student at Cascia Hall, neither he nor anyone else knew he was born with dyslexia and a hearing impairment. At the time, the early 1980s, not much was known about adults with learning disabilities. As Dr. Blake struggled to learn about his own learning disability he decided to make his life’s work the diagnosis and treatment of adults with learning disabilities and AD/HD. When he started his professional life, he was one of a handful of professionals in the country with such a focus. Dr. Blake has specialized for over 20 years in learning disabilities and AD/HD and lives and works as a licensed psychologist in Tucson, Arizona.

Dr. Blake received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Notre Dame, in Notre Dame, Indiana. He has a master’s degree in Community Counseling and a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Finally, he did his pre-doctoral internship at the Student Counseling Services at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.

Dr. Blake is currently a nationally recognized authority on learning disorders and AD/HD in adolescents and adults. He does continuing education seminars on learning disabilities and AD/HD for mental health professionals across the country for Cross Country Education, a seminar company out of Brentwood, Tennessee. He has also functioned as a consultant for several universities and institutions in Arizona. Most notably, he has consulted with the Disability Recourse Center of the University of Arizona and Sierra Tucson, a private psychiatric hospital in Tucson, Arizona.

Dr. Blake was a 1991 delegate to the National Institute of Literacy’s "LEAD 2000 Congress" on diagnostic and remediation issues confronting learning disabled adults. He has served as a board member of CHADD of Tucson for the past twelve years and has been on the boards of the Arizona Branch of the International Dyslexia Association, and the Southern Arizona Psychological Association.
