Guidance Counseling

Guidance Counseling

Guidance and academic services are overseen by the Directors of the Upper and Middle Schools along with the Director of Guidance. The guidance department provides personal, academic and college counseling, as well as some vocational counseling. Since the overwhelming majority of students matriculate to college, more emphasis is placed on college counseling.

The student/counselor ratio is 375/3 in the Upper School and 177/1 in the Middle School.

A full-time college counselor works with all 9th and 10th graders, while the head of college counseling meets with all 11th and 12th graders. The Upper School guidance counselor is responsible for assisting students with personal as well as academic issues, as is the Middle School counselor.

The guidance and counseling department strives to assist students in becoming self-directed and goal-oriented, in solving personal problems, in making wise choices in their present lives, as well as thoughtful decisions concerning their future plans.

Accommodations for students in grades six through twelve with documented disabilities such as learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, or other medical disabilities are available for students at Cascia Hall.
